Adventures in Door Knocking - Chapter 18

"Melissa thanked me for introducing myself.  She let me know she loves meeting people who are so enthusiastic about their job and would absolutely refer people to me and of course call me when she is ready.”

Adventures in Door Knocking Chapter 18

50 doors knocked 14 people qualified   12 business cards handed out

1 hour 10 minutes

This morning in just seventy minutes, I met three people, each who unfortunately shared their stories of the loss of a loved one.  John lost his wife six years ago.  He let me know his next move would be to the cemetery so he could be with his wife.  He asked for my business card so he could give it to his kids when he was ready.  Peter recently lost his mother and said he would probably be the next to go.   I let both men know that I would pray that neither of them would personally need my help, for a very long time and wished both of them excellent health.  I also shared that since I planned on them sticking around for a long time, I was expecting lots of referrals of people moving.  I informed them of my dedicated and successful real estate team that services US and Canada and I would be back in six months to check up.  They smiled and happily took my card.

Melissa also lost a family member recently.  Melissa actually had her home on the market but she took it off when her husband got very sick.  He recently passed away.  She still wants to move because but does not think she can afford because she is on a fixed income and now she is raising two autistic kids on her own.  I let her know if she wanted to set up a complimentary, confidential real estate consultation and discuss some options, she should give me a call.  Melissa thanked me for introducing myself.  She let me know she loves meeting people who are so enthusiastic about their job and would absolutely refer people to me and of course call me when she is ready.  What a nice lady.  I wished her and her family good health as well and expressed my deepest condolences.

As referenced in previous chapters of Adventures in Door Knocking, life-changing events, like a person’s death often means someone may need my help.  As in the case of Melissa, people are sometimes unsure if they can afford to move.  Often times when people meet with me, we discover as a result of beneficiary benefits like an inheritance, life insurance, pension or other assets, that the loss of loved might not mean the impossibility of buying or selling a home. If you or someone you know, would like more information and some honest advice, I would gladly set up a complimentary, confidential appointment.  I promise to treat you or your friend or family member, with the same care that I treat my own.
