First day back in the saddle after 11 days and I am door knocking on Halloween.  Yup! I am serious about my business.  Gotta say, I was a little rusty after not going out for almost 2 weeks, but I seem to get the hang of it by the end of the morning.  No costumes for me.  Not until later in the day when I was Meredith from Grey’s Anatomy.  (I even included a picture for you.)

I got a door slammed in my face.  It was not the first time and it won’t be my last.  Some will. Some won’t.  So what.  Next.  On to the next door I went.

I bumped into a real estate agent doing a home inspection so it looks like another home will be sold in Bayside soon.  Woo! Hoo! No worries! We have others.

Back to my morning…. I qualified a woman on the 3rd floor of a house thru her window and in Spanish.  Now everyone on the street knows I am bilingual.  Yeah! I even met a Korean contractor who insisted that I give him a card and let me know he would definitely call me when he moved. 

Tuesday 11/1/11

I met 5 Korean people and 4 Chinese people this morning.  All of who spoke just enough English to tell me what language they do speak.  Honestly, I am seriously looking for agents or people willing to get their license who speak Chinese or Korean.  I could be walking away from al ton of potential real estate business and I could really use your help.  Call me ASAP! I will train!

I met a woman who did not speak English and I qualified her daughter while she was on the cell phone.  I met another woman who was moving out because her rent increased from $1400 to $1800 per month.  Wow! That is a HUGE increase and that rent is higher than a lot of mortgages!

I had one woman answer her door this morning saying “It is a terrible economy.  No one is buying real estate!” I then turned around and asked her: “Do you know of anyone that has been laid off in the past year or has retired?” She said, “Yes, I do!”  I then turned around and said: “These are just some of the types people that I am looking for.  Often times when a person’s income decreases they consider moving, as they are no longer able to afford their home.  At the same time, there are people who have very secure job and either are having a baby, getting married, relocating for work, or even upgrading and they are so excited to take advantage of such an outstanding real estate market.  So when you do come across someone in a similar situation, would you be so kind as to refer them to me? I promise to take good care of them.” She paused.  Then looked me in the eye and said, “Ok.  Not a problem.” I made another person a more educated real estate consumer.  Yup, I love my job!
