I think this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship...

It's 9pm on a Wednesday night and I'm in Panera Bread in Bay Terrace doing some follow up buyer calls.  I cannot help but notice these two guys out of the corner of my eye working on some drawings that look like floor plans.  As usual, my curiosity overcomes me, since I think I might have found more buyers and/or a contractor, helping his buyer with renovations.  I am not the slightest bit shy, so I walk over and ask what they are doing. 

Alley Oop

It turns out these two guys are actually the founders of a local start-up company that specializes in architectural design.  They are putting together plans for a new rental building that is being constructed right in Queens.  As I chatted with them I came to realize that they make a very unique team. One of them is the dream-maker; he ensures that the vision his partner has is realistic, feasible and supports him in creating a quality plan.  The other is an alley-oop.  For those of you not familiar with this basketballl term, an alley-oop, as defined by wikipedia as “an offensive play in which one player throws the ball near the basket to a teammate who jumps, catches the ball in mid air and immediately scores a basket, usually with a slam. The alley-oop combines elements of teamwork, pinpoint passing, and timing.”

It was evident from our conversations that the three of us were very serious about our careers. After all, we were still working at 9pm over dinner.  They were impressed with my creativity and my passion about real estate.  They informed me that once this building was ready for tenants, they were going to refer my name to the building owner.  I let them know I was grateful and I assured them that I would provide him the absolute best level of service, as I do with all my clients and I would be happy to help with any of their real estate needs all throughout the US & Canada. 

“I think this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship" was the response I received.  I agreed.  I can hardly wait to learn more about this company so that we can begin working together.  The partners, whom I collectively nicknamed, D Squared, as they have the same name, asked me to keep their names and their company name confidential until we have an opportunity to get to know each other better. This will allow them to protect their privacy and the privacy of their clients.  I respect that, so please stay tuned for more info about the dream-maker and alley-oop and our progress together.
